Allison Harris is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Allison Harris's work explores racial formation and place, especially through the US South, Appalachia, and the Caribbean. She emphasizes the cross-racial solidarity of resistance in these regions. She co-edited “Looking for Black Miami” with Donette Francis. She is a child of the South, having traversed Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina, with roots in Alabama and Arkansas.
